The HORUS® drone was developed by the Fraunhofer IVI in cooperation with the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) and Airclip Service GmbH & Co. KG.
The basic structure is made entirely of carbon fibre reinforced plastic, thus offering an ideal combination of stability and mass. It is mechanically constructed in an H shape and is designed as a flying interchangeable mounting frame. The name HORUS® – »HOvering Remote controlled Ultra-light Sensor platform« – was derived from this concept.
HORUS® is ideally suited to fulfil the high demands of both research institutions and companies regarding the versatility and modularity of drones.
